Our real estate market will shift once again when the upcoming school year begins. Here’s what you need to know about that if you’re thinking of selling your home.
Right now, we’re about to go through another shift in the year. Here in the Midwest, there are typically five such shifts in the market per year. Four of them are seasonal shifts, while the other is the school year shift.
The last shift we went through was the spring-to-summer shift, and the next shift we’ll see is the school year shift. There’s a misconception in our marketplace that buyers disappear when the school year starts. However, it’s not the buyers that go away-it’s the dynamic of the buyer.
I want you to understand that if you’re thinking of selling after the school year begins, your focus on who you’re targeting needs to change. Buyers who are school year-focused will subside in the next month or so, but buyers who are not focused on the school year will pop up and your property will be more visible to them.
If you understand the individual shifts in our market, as well as how the market shifts throughout the year, you will have a lot more success when selling your home. If you have any questions about the upcoming market shifts or about the real estate market in general, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you.
